Our pastor, John Leonard, was ordained to the Gospel Ministry at Nall Avenue Baptist Church, Prairie Village, KS.  He received ministry training at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, and Christian Family Institute in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Before he came to Lansing First Southern Baptist Church, he served as a Single Adult Minister and as a Director of Adult Ministries and Discipleship in two Kansas City-area Baptist churches.  He has also ministered on praise worship teams, preached at Kansas City Rescue Mission, and served in marriage counseling.  John and his wife, Sylvia, have been married and ministering together for 25 years, and they have four grown children.
